Transit Slovakia it is possible to drive without the visa

Since June, 1st of current year Slovakia enters new rules of crossing of Ukrainian-Slovak border, have informed in Management of the information and public relations of the Zakarpatye regional state administration. By new rules the visa which is given out by European Union member country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland, does not give the right to the person to be in territory of Slovakia without the visa of this state, informs MIGnews.

"Citizens of the third countries who have received visas, on an example, the Hungarian Republic, can cross border of Slovakia only in case of transit to Hungary. This visa does not give them the right to short-term stay to territories of Slovakia", - have underlined in Zakarpatye OGA.

If the citizen of the third state carries out transit journey through territory of Slovak Republic, the police frontier guard puts in its passport over entrance datoshtampom a mark "transit". Also the policeman at the boundary control on entrance checks, whether the citizen of the third country of the requirement on transit journey fulfils.

If the citizen of the third country has not fulfilled the requirement concerning transit journey (leaves in the country from which it has arrived to Slovak Republic, or has not carried out transit journey, or did not observe 5-day term defined for transit), the policeman imposes on it the penalty or passes the message on an offence in competent bodies. Repeated infringement of requirements of transit through territory of Slovakia will be punished by administrative exclusion.

The citizen of the third country is released from the obligation to have the visa at entrance on territory of Slovakia for the purpose of transit journey if will present the valid passport for trips abroad in which will be issued: the separate Schengen visa - short-term or transit; dolgodejstvujushchaja the visa (national), given out by EU member state which in full adheres to the Schengen code; the permission to the residing which has been given out by EU member state which in full adheres to the Schengen code; visa or the permission to residing which are specified in the application of the decision which have been given out by new member country of the European Union.

Besides, means for residing are required the Slovak party in the size specified at the disposal of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Slovak Republic "About definition of the sum of financial assets on a covering of the expenses connected with stay of the foreigner in territory of Slovakia which is not the citizen of the European economic space or a member of his family".

This sum is defined at a rate of 50 euros for one days of stay. Financial assets are required for all period of stay specified in the visa. If the citizen of the third country has no sufficient sum of means for all period of stay specified in the visa, the policeman reduces to it visa period of validity.

Let's remind, that on June, 18th, 2007 Ukraine and the European Union will sign the agreement on visa regime simplification. The first deputy minister of foreign affairs Vladimir Ogryzko earlier has informed on it.
