The new passport will have 25 degrees of protection. In him there will be polikarbonatnaja a page on which personal data of the owner are put by methods of laser punching and a laser engraving. "The current sample of the passport has been accepted in 1994 and for today is morally obsolete. As it is now made two their kinds: with the pasted and laser photo. And it is wrong", — Valentine Muzyka has informed.

"Manufacture of new documents in the country will begin according to the decision of the Supreme Rada from February, 23rd, 2007 the Corresponding order which will be confirmed by the sample of the new passport developed by consortium EDAPS, today should publish Ministry", — the People's Deputy from Party of regions has informed Vasily Gritsak.

To begin delivery to citizens of the passport of the new sample Ukraine, as well as the others 188 states of the International organisation of civil aircraft (ICAO), it was obliged till April, 1st, 2010 According to Vasily Gritsaka, EDAPS was ready to it in 2004, but the political situation has prevented. In 2005 Victor Yushchenko has signed the decree according to which passports of the new sample should be made on technology of company SuperCom Ltd. (Israel), instead of consortium EDAPS at which for that moment the contract on manufacturing of documents from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has already been signed.

It has the built in contactless electronic chip with additional (except the signature and a photo) the biometric information on its owner. According to the director of Open Society "KP VTI" (the enterprise entering into consortium EDAPS) of Igor Pervushina, this document completely will exclude frauds with passports. "Our technology allows to bring on the chip of 19 biometric characteristics of the person. For example, drawing of a retina of an eye or prints of fingers. But we which will be brought in the document will be defined, only after the decision of the Council of Europe. What data will choose they, such we will bring also", — he has informed.

According to mister Gritsaka, technically Ukraine is ready to make passports with the built in chips. The legislative base lags behind, and in the autumn it will introduce in the Supreme Rada the bill of gathering of biometric data at the population.

On the statistican Ukrainians receive in passport branches of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of 85 thousand passports in a month, have informed "Economic news".
